My name is Candace and I love to create. So much, in fact, that I am devoting a whole blog to not only telling you how much I love it, but hopefully inspiring you to do the same.
I caught the crafting-bug when I seven years old after my mom bought me my first glue gun. Many things in our house did not escape the fate of being glued to something, and I began making hair barrettes by gluing rhinestones, candies, and even pennies to them. I also have my mother and my grandmother to thank. I watched them sew and create clothing, blankets and quilts and was truly inspired by what their hands could produce. After completing college, getting married and having two beautiful boys, I realize how much crafting is a part of who I am, and as crazy as life gets at times, to deny myself the opportunity to create something, anything, would be denying a part of me that I love and enjoy so much.
While I will try anything at least once (as my craft-stash could testify), my favorite crafting pursuits fall under crochet, embroidery, and anything having to do with paper. The process of creating is such an amazing one, to be enjoyed and respected, and I consider it a good day - no, a great day - if I can spend just a few moments toiling in my studio.
When I don’t have my hands deep into something creative, you can find my nose buried in a cookbook, telling my husband and our four-year-old that the sofa is not a trampoline, or keeping my nineteen-month-old out of the cat’s water bowl. While being a mom and wife keep me busy 90% of the day, there is that 10% that I get to claim as all mine. This blog is where I will showcase that small, but significant 10% of me that I enjoy so much.
I hope you come to this blog and are inspired by what you see to not only go out and create something beautiful, but know that you can! I truly believe we were created to be creators and everyone has the ability to bring beauty to their and to other’s lives. Carve out some time and do something creative everyday!
