It's always so refreshing to get someone else's take on scripture and the important things the Lord is trying to teach us. I love that verse about the treasure in a field. I've always had trouble understanding scripture as well, but using the NIV translation helps me tremendously (i have a very hard time reading King James). I also have a LIFE application bible, so each page has 'commentary' on the verses that help explain what they mean. I use this extensively. over the last two years i have grown so much in the Lord and my daily walk, and my understanding of his word. One big part of that - Beth Moore bible studies. If you haven't taken one, I strongly suggest taking one, Believing God was one of my favorite, although the Esther study and Fruits of the Spirit were great too. heck, every single one of them are great, but those are my favorites. she teaches it on a level i 'get'.
