So I’m easing back into blogging & so far feeling really good about it! I do feel like I crack my knuckles more at my keyboard than I ever have, not because I’m typing that much but because it helps kill time as I’m debating what to type. Anyways, many of you I know, and obviously you know me but even those that I know I could always know more. And I if you’re like me, when it comes to blogging sometimes you draw a complete blank as to what to blog about. So in honor of Top Ten Tuesday I decided to throw some questions at you to get to know you since you take time out of your day to get to know me. Use this as a springboard to a post of your own, or just answer them here for my own amusement. And if you’re new to my blog & we have never met, please do it anyways - I love meeting new people! You can use the comment section of this post or answer them on your blog & link the post in the comment section so we can all get a little closer. C’mon friends, let’s get a little socially awkward!
Top Ten: Getting to know YOU!
1) What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name?
2) What was your worst date (as in going out on a date, not an actual calendar date…unless you have a really bad one to share)?
3) If you had to teach one subject in high school or college, what would it be?
4) When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?
5) What is the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
6) If money or skill-set was no issue, what would you love to do for a living?
7) What is one thing as an adult/parent/spouse you do that you swore you would never do?
8) If you could go back to one particular time in your life (not to live, not to change anything, just to visit) when would it be?

1. I don’t know that I would call myself anything other than ‘Sunshine’..I like it.
2. Prom. It was awkward for so many reasons. I was with a boyfriend at a different school where I knew no one but him. And he was painfully shy.

9. If my walls could talk they would say that I am a people person..a painter…a music lover…a mom who loves life … a procrastinator. That I’m trying to figure out what works best for my family but, I’m pretty laid back and wish that I could be more balanced.

2) Prom was one of them. Went to a sports bar (thinking it was a nice restaurant) then my date dropped me off at home and didn’t even walk me to the door.
3) Uhm. Reading. Is that in High School?
4) At Blissdom with the sisterchicks. I can’t remember what it was but I think it was about 2am.
5) Someone sent me a purple purse in the mail just b/c they knew I liked purple!
6) Wedding planning. Working with other people’s money? Ooh, baby!
7) I don’t know but I was sure I was going to be perfect!
8) When I was a little kid. I’d love to see myself at my kid’s ages. And see my parents interact with me.
9) I hope they’d say I do my best. That’s all I can manage some days…
10) I’d want world peace. Just kidding. I wish it was the norm to love and follow Jesus.

1) What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name? I am good with Rachel. Its a pretty solid name. :)
2) What was your worst date (as in going out on a date, not an actual calendar date…unless you have a really bad one to share)? Going out with a friend that REALLY liked me that way, and I didn’t like him that way. SOOO AKWARD!
3) If you had to teach one subject in high school or college, what would it be? Can I say maturity? LOL I wouldn’t go back to highschool eva. Not even for a paying salary. HATED IT!
4) When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried? 2 days ago. My hubby does that to me constantly, mostly cause I am laughing at him.
5) What is the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?My girlfriend Julie helps me out with my kids. That is truly the most helpful, kindest thing because it gives me the extra arms I need so much!
6) If money or skill-set was no issue, what would you love to do for a living? I would have to say therapist. I love helping people talk through there problems with common sense and openmindedness (sp)
7) What is one thing as an adult/parent/spouse you do that you swore you would never do? That would have to be yelling. I hate it and don’t want to do it, but it happens more than I would like.
8) If you could go back to one particular time in your life (not to live, not to change anything, just to visit) when would it be? There is nothing I would go back to. My life is far better now than my childhood.
9) If your walls could talk, what would they say about you (good & bad)? That is am loving and very flawed.
10) If you could fix or put an end to one problem in the world what would it be?
I would want for everyone to help others, not cause they have to, but because they want to.

Yay! This is so fun! I love talking about myself. haha.
1) Carter. It is my middle name and a family name and I adore it.
2) Hmmm… I went on this accidental date with a guy in high school who was actually already dating a friend of mine. I was too young to understand the “date around” thing. I had no clue he liked me, jsut thought we were hanging out. (Naive a little?) But by the end of the date, we didn’t like each other at all anymore. We just seriously butted heads. So weird.
3) Photography, fo sho.
4) When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?
5) Honestly I can’t recall. I think I blocked this out because I have a hard time accepting wonderful acts and/or gifts. Isn’t that weird? I’m such a gift giver myself, you’d think I’d know how to react when someone did something for me.

7) Consider myself the “exception.” Like, No Parking signs? Pfft they aren’t talking to me. My mom does that all the time, and I find myself doing it more and more. Ridiculous. Srsly.
8) I don’t know. Initially I’d say high school. But I think I’d cringe the entire time I was revisiting. Whew. I don’t really think I want to do that.

1) I honestly don’t know–September is a little unique and–while I hated it when I was a kid surrounded by Jennifers–I’m used to it now. The only name I *love* but never used was Eliott (if Davis was a girl he would have been named Elliott (after George, lol) and called Elle).
2) Before I had even started dating my husband I went out with one of his roomates. Nice guy but totally not my type–I was bummed that the restaurant we went to was 30 minutes away from school so I was stuck there without a way to sneak out early.
3) American History.
4) When Davis grabbed his package during tv time a few weeks ago and I reminded him of the “rules” regarding such behavior and he told me that “it’s my birthday so I can do whatever I want to.”
Sorry…you asked.
5) My DH brings me coffee in bed every morning. Forget jewelry, it doesn’t get any better than that.
6) a writer.
7) Make everything from scratch and not buy processed food. Pop tarts were as far removed from our home as crack and I WANTED THEM. Alas…my kids have to suffer with home-baked everything. Add it to the list of things they can seek therapy for.
8) When my daughter was a month or two old and would lie on her bunny blanket making faces at herself (in the mirror) and at me. I didn’t appreciate the simplicity of those moments.

2. My HS crush finally asked me out in college. We were going to a Garth Brooks concert. I was too nervous to eat before, but drank entirely too much while there. Not pretty.
